You are crying, you feel broken, you feel wrong,
But, I see your beauty, I see your light and you are strong. You feel your weakness, your pain and your gloom, But, I see you shining and lighting up this room. You are hurt, you are injured and alone, But, you are loved and so cherished here at home. You will build, you will repair and you will grow, You will become so much more that this person that you know. You will see, you will feel and you will own, The goodness that’s inside you, you will sit upon your throne. You will laugh, you will soar and you will ride, On those wings of greatness, just grow what’s already inside. You are love, you are hope, and you’ve faced your trial, I really think it's time that we pause so that we can see your smile.

We spend our youths continuously being reviewed by others. We measure our success on the praise from our parents, teachers and peers.
Every piece of work that we completed was marked, graded and compared against others. You always knew where you stood. It could both lift your confidence and make you despair, depending on your result. But, you always, always knew where you stood, and what you needed to work on. When you leave education this support suddenly stops. We are catapulted into a world where we have to be self-aware and know where we are in our life, where our direction is leading towards and how well we are doing in whatever activity it is that we have chosen to undertake. No one stops to tell how amazing we are doing, how we have done so great to get to where we are right now. So I want to take a minute and tell you all that you have all been doing fantastic. Whether you got the big promotion you have been trying for, or you washed your hair today. Whatever you have done today, you have done it! Whatever your challenge was today, you have overcome it. I just want you all to know how amazing you all for that. Some may feel that others are taking great leaps whilst they tiptoe along but we are all just putting one foot in front of the other at our own pace. We are all fighting our own private battles and today, we all fought outstandingly. I have spent a long time hating my body. I have a few conditions that affect how well my body works and on top of these conditions (and sometimes because of these conditions) I have struggled with depression and anxiety.
There are some phrases that carry a message that speak to people more than others. They speak to your soul in a way that nothing else has before it. They reach inside you and make you want to make a change. They fill up your whole body with this exciting warmth and your head floods with new understanding. These phrases become so important to you, they become ingrained into who you are.
There are so many ways that we can be stuck in life. Our relationships, careers, wellbeing, fitness, and dreams can all get stuck. We can be stuck in a job we don’t like, stuck with a ‘rock and hard place’ decision. We can be stuck on someone else’s list, or stuck, unable to make process through your own list.
In, out. In, out
I take deep breaths in and out. I stand alone at the edge of a battlefield. I can see the faces of monsters bearing down at me. In, out. I blink and time starts to slow. My body shoots with icy adrenaline, fear seeping out of my pores. I know the creatures before me can sense it. They are waiting, waiting for me to make the first move. In, out. I can feel my fingers itching, my toes curling. Every atom in my body is screaming at me to run. My body can’t communicate with my brain, danger has flooded through every nerve. As a nation, we grow busier everyday. We live in a world where more and more is demanded of us every year. We work longer hours, we come into work on weekends, we hold higher expectations on ourselves and others. There are more and more social event invitations and we are so conscious of the impression that we create that we put so much pressure on ourselves to attend each and every one. We feel we need to be out exploring our world everyday. We cannot waste a second, cannot waste a breath.
